IMO® PROBLEM IT™ 2010 Release 1.1 is available! As part of our drive to improve clinical usability, the casing for all values for IMO_LC_TEXT in the ICD9_LEXICALS_TEXT_IMO table has been changed from title case to sentence case. We have implemented these changes so that the casing in our terminology will be more in line with the casing used in clinical documentation and standard terminologies and codesets. For example, the IMO clinician-friendly term "Hypertension due to Intracranial Pressure" will now read as "Hypertension due to intracranial pressure".

This release is significant as it encompasses the 344 new 2010 ICD-9-CM code additions as well as the 151 ICD-9-CM code updates (description and flag changes), all of which become effective on October 1, 2010. Problem IT is a clinical diagnosis and problem terminology that contains over 170,000 user-friendly terms for clinicians, coders, and patients. IMO® partners with Aprima Medical Software, Inc. (formerly known as iMedica) to include IMO's ProblemIT™ and ProcedureIT™ for problem, diagnoses and procedure searching. Aprima's EHR/PM solution, certified by CCHIT® in 2007, can be implemented as an integrated EHR/Practice Management (PM) system, as a standalone EHR, or as a standalone PM, with migration occuring later to an integrated system. The system can be used in a ASP model needing only an internet connection and browser. Aprima (www.aprimaehr.com) is based in Carrollton, TX.

IMO kicks off its webinar series with the first of many educational presentations: "Diagnosis Terminology Made Easy" to provide EMR developers with a fundamental understanding of IMO's Interface Terminology and how it can be leveraged in EMR systems to ease many of the challenges faced by EMR vendors.
