SNOMED CT®
SNOMED CT (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine--Clinical Terms) is a comprehensive clinical terminology, originally created by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). As of April 2007, it is owned, maintained, and distributed by the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organization (IHTSDO), a non-for-profit association in Denmark. CAP continues to support SNOMED CT operations under contract to the IHTSDO and provides SNOMED-related products and services as a licensee of the terminology.
IMO® maintains mappings to SNOMED CT. Each customer who uses the mappings to reference the SNOMED terminology needs to obtain their own copy of SNOMED CT. You can obtain a copy at the link below.
